Product Overview:

The ELM Dual-Band ADS-B Traffic & Weather Receiver is a permanently installed avionics module designed for experimental fixed-wing aircraft. It provides real-time ADS-B IN traffic and weather information, enhancing pilot situational awareness without adding cockpit clutter. Engineered for seamless integration with ELM EFIS systems via CAN bus, the receiver also features built-in Wi-Fi for wireless connectivity to tablets and mobile devices.

Designed for aircraft installation, the unit is powered directly from the aircraft electrical system. Its focused design makes it an ideal companion to existing EFIS and navigation systems, delivering reliable traffic and weather data where it matters most.

Key Features:

Dual-Band ADS-B Reception: Simultaneous reception of 978 MHz (UAT) and 1090 MHz ADS-B signals for traffic and weather.
Traffic Awareness: Displays nearby aircraft and relative movement on compatible EFIS and connected devices.
FIS-B Weather Data: Receives broadcast weather information where available for improved strategic awareness.
Built-In Wi-Fi: Integrated wireless interface for connecting tablets and mobile devices without external adapters.
CAN Bus Integration: Native CAN bus connectivity for direct integration with ELM EFIS systems.

RS-232 connectivity with GDL90 protocol
Installed Aircraft Design: Powered from aircraft electrical system with no internal battery required.

In-Flight Features:

✔️ Real-Time Traffic Display: Receive and display ADS-B traffic information on compatible EFIS and mobile applications.
✔️ Weather Awareness: Provides FIS-B weather data to support enroute and pre-flight decision making (where broadcast is available).
✔️ EFIS Integration: Seamlessly connects to ELM EFIS systems via CAN bus for low-latency, reliable data transfer.
✔️ Wireless Connectivity: Built-in Wi-Fi allows multiple tablets or mobile devices to connect simultaneously.
✔️ Clean Installation: Compact, remote-mountable design keeps the cockpit free of excess cables and portable devices.
✔️ Dedicated ADS-B Functionality: Designed specifically for traffic and weather reception without unnecessary features.

Enhanced Safety and Reduced Pilot Overload:

The ELM Dual-Band ADS-B Receiver enhances flight safety by providing continuous access to traffic and weather information, allowing pilots to make informed decisions with less distraction. By integrating directly into the aircraft’s avionics system, it eliminates the need for portable receivers, batteries, and cockpit mounting solutions.

With traffic and weather data presented through existing EFIS displays or connected devices, pilots can maintain awareness without diverting attention from primary flight tasks. This streamlined approach helps reduce pilot workload, particularly in busy airspace or changing weather conditions.

Specifications:

Input Voltage: +10V to +28V DC
ADS-B Bands: 978 MHz (UAT) and 1090 MHz
Connectivity: CAN bus (ELM EFIS), Wi-Fi, RS-232
Installation Type: Permanent aircraft installation
Intended Use: ADS-B IN traffic and weather reception

Manufacturer: 360 Avionics Corp.

Why Pilots Choose the ELM ADS-B Receiver:

Pilots choose the ELM Dual-Band ADS-B Receiver for its clean integration, reliable performance, and purpose-built design for experimental aircraft. By focusing solely on traffic and weather reception, it complements existing avionics without redundancy or complexity. Its CAN bus integration with ELM EFIS systems and built-in Wi-Fi connectivity provide a modern, efficient solution for enhancing situational awareness in the cockpit.

Important Note:

This device provides advisory traffic and weather information only. It is the pilot’s responsibility to evaluate all available data and make appropriate operational decisions. All electronic systems are subject to limitations and potential errors; information should always be cross-checked with other sources.
